Esterex Polyol Esters

Description

ExxonMobil’s Esterex™ Esters are API category Group V fluids. Esterex™ Polyol Esters are produced by the reaction of a polyol with mono-carboxylic acids. The Esterex™ Polyol Esters have excellent lower-temperature properties, good lubricating properties and lower volatilities than mineral oils with comparable viscosity. In addition, Esterex™ Polyol Esters are the most hydrolytically and thermally stable class of esters in the Esterex™ line.

Applications

Esterex™ Polyol Esters can be used as either sole basestocks or as blendstocks with other synthetic fluids in many automotive and industrial lubricant applications. These esters are ideal for use in highly loaded, high-speed lubricant applications where energy efficiency is desired. When used in automotive lubricants, Esterex™ Polyol Esters also provide excellent additive solubility and seal-swelling properties. Typical lubricants that incorporate Esterex™ Polyol Esters can include:

  • Compressor oils
  • Automotive engine oils
  • High-temperature greases
  • Turbine oils
  • Two-stroke engine oils
  • Hydraulic fluids
